Our First Week in Kindergarten

We had a wonderful first week in kindergarten. Our class came together as a whole community on Friday and we worked very well together. The first days are hard because we had to learn a lot about our new classroom, our new teachers,our new friends and our school. Here are a few of the things we did during our first week.

We made straight lines and curved lines.  I made a J.

My bears are in six lines and I can count them.

Small Blocks

  

Working with Pattern Blocks.

We created patterns that were flat on the table and patterns that could stand.

I created a design with the pattern blocks.

                                     

The Book Nook

We can go and read in the Book Nook.

 Puzzles

We worked on a floor puzzle with our friends.  When we finished it, it was a big school bus.

Playdough

 We made all kinds of things with play dough.  We practiced sharing and taking turns at this center.

We asked Terri and Sue to make some more in a different color.

This is the time that we think about our morning and then think about what we will be doing in the afternoon.
