We are learning different ways to thread the needle. We can use a needle threader or we can pinch the yarn, make a 'turtle head' and wiggle the yarn through the hole. Threading the needle is hard!!

We started our stitching project. We drew three pictures and then chose our favorite one.

Our Field Trip to Detering's Orchard
We took a field trip to Detering's Orchard. We went with the other Kindergarten class and the two first grade classes. We got to ride a school bus. As we left the school it got foggier and foggier. But it never rained on us.
When we got to the orchard we were greeted by a volunteer who told us all our growing apples. |
We listened to how apples are grown at Detering's. |
Next we got to pick an apple off a tree and eat it. |
We ate Golden Delicious apples |
Looking for just the right pumpkin. |
Found it! |
My pumpkin is in the bag. |
Ready to go home. |
All about me
We painted life sized pictures of ourselves. We wrote a me poem. Then we placed both in the middle wing of the school because that is where there was plenty of room.
We practiced holding the paint brush, it is the same way we hold a pencil!
Sue helped us mix just the right color for our skin. Each of us added the paint until we thought it was the color we wanted.

Math Games
Math Games
During our math time we spend our time working at different math centers. We have been working on counting, number recognition and number comparisons. In addition to working with numbers we are also learning how to be independent learners, how to share, how to solve a problem (how to work out a disagreement), how to follow directions and how to take turns.
This game is called Roll and Record
Count how many dots. |
Then put a penny in the square of the number that the dice lands on. |
Now I roll again. |
